Shaw Flooring has launched a “Growth and Sustainability Council”. The council is made up with 15 executives at the top level whose purpose is to focus on long term business growth and sustainability issues. The group will be guided by Randy Merritt, Shaw’s president, and Ken Jackson, Shaw’s CFO.
Shaw has consistently been an industry leader in flooring and surface coverings from the purchase of the Philadelphia Carpet Company in 1967 to the creation of Shaw Green Edge, a line committed to long-term environmental solutions.
By creating the Growth and Sustainability Council, and utilizing all of its members, Shaw will be able to gain great insight into the future of floor covering. Floor covering products have already shifted from mainly carpet flooring to now including hard surface flooring including hardwood, laminate, and tile. As consumers become more environmentally conscious, there is now a greater demand for “green” flooring items. The future of carpet and flooring is rapidly changing, and Shaw is putting itself in a position to be a leader of change.
